Bianco: Its all about location.
In
the sun drenched south of Italy the tiny coastal resort of
Bianco is a hidden treasure waiting to be discovered. Bianco
delivers the true taste of Italy, flavours of a colourful
past reflected in street parades and parties. There are
spectacular wine festival, open air theatres and
celebrations of the natural world. All of our properties are
within walking distance of the town, by the beach and
surrounded by picturesque woodlands. This is peace and
tranquility, with some of the beautiful scenery in the whole
of Italy.
Local amenities:
Yes
it has it all, a very good selection of bars, cafes and
restarants. For a traditional dinning experience there are
Italian trattorias or pizzerias. Bianco has the finest
ingredients imaginable from well stocked supermarkets and
stores. A wide variety of colourful vegetables are also
available ( this is one of Italys main agricultural centres
). Vegetarians will not be disappointed. The town has a
chemist, beauty salons, an internet café, boutiques,
butchers and delicatessen.
Bovalino:
This is the neighbouring town of Bianco, it
has an evan wider selection of restaurants, shops and bars,
including a new shopping centre. As could be expected, sea
food is a speciality in both towns. This area is also famous
for sweet treats, or as they are known locally, I dolci.
There are medical centres, post offices and
banking facilities in both Bianco and Bovalino.

The capital of the province , with its
position with its straits of messina of Messina facing and
the stunning snow capped peaks of Mount Etna, is an elegant
and dynamic place to spend time. It is from there you can
get cheap, regular ferries to Sicily, to go scuba driving
and visit some of the most breathtaking archaeological
museums in Italy.
Sport and leisure:
With
thousands of kilometers of stunning coastline, Calabrias
water sports facilities are second to none. Windsurfing,
snorkeling, sailing and deep sea fishing are very popular as
for scuba diving with over 50 sunken ships to see there is
more than enough for ever one.
Golf is also very popular and there are two
nine hole courses within an hours drive of Bianco. There is
skiing in the winter months in central Calabrias mountainous
region and trekking is popular in spring and summer through
out the regions stunning national parks. Bird watchers will
be in their element as they will be able to see at various
times of the year, black woodpeckers, eagles, peregrine
falcons, eagle owls, sanpipers, redshanks and wild duck.

Getting to calabria:
Travelling to Calabria
has been made much easier now that Ryanair flies directly to
Lamezia Terme airport from London Stansted. Flights
currently leave three times a week ( Tuesday, Thursday and
Saturday ) and departing from Stansted at 6.10, and arriving
in Calabria at 10.05am.
Lamezia Terme is about one and a half hours
drive from Bianco, giving you time to enjoy the beautiful
views along the way.
